The advent of automatic generation tools, that could automatically generate the information was a major step in the creation of more accurate documentation and it held the promise of saving time and money. The effort of creating API reference documentation for software continues today and the growth of these automated tools also matures.
This page is included in this series to point out Web sites about existing automatic-generation (autogen) and automatically-generated documentation (autodoc) tools as well as articles about their use as well as articles about how to combine this automatically generated documentation along with the traditional human-authored documentation for a product.
