Social Networking at KeyContent and at Content Wrangler

Scott Abel writes:
"Just a quick announcement to say I created a new social network for content professionals:

I just did a formal announcement on The Content Wrangler blog this morning.

http://www.thecontentwrangler.com/article/new_social_network_for_content_professionals/

The site is called The Content Wrangler Community and it should prove to be an interesting and informative community that we all can participate in (free, of course)."

And for users of KeyContent.org, who may be wondering if we have a similar social network, here is the list of the features in Scott's site (and that other social networks promote), which we already have (or TikiWiki has and we simply need to enable and configure) as reported to me by Rick Sapir:

From Scott's site: Some of the features of our new community include:
  • Members can invite new members, meet other members
At KeyContent.org, we already have the TELL A FRIEND link for articles (wiki pages) and blogs.

  • Full message center with address book importing from Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and Hotmail
TikiWiki has a message center which is basically a gateway to any POP mail sever. You could log into KeyContent.org, go to the message center, then read/send mail. There's also an intra-messaging system.

  • See which members of your network are online now
We can add a WHO IS ONLINE module. It will show who is currently logged in and if there are any anymous viewers. This is already enabled for admin logged in.

  • Customizable profile pages
KeyContent.org users already can create their own user page.

  • Photo slideshows, video players, music players, and network badges, that can be embedded anywhere on the Internet, seamlessly funneling new people to your network
  • Members can set different privacy settings for every photo, video, group, or blog post they contribute
  • RSS feeds of your network’s features, such as members, discussions, photos, videos, music/podcasts, and blog posts

These are all great features and ones that are looking to add.
Let's all go social.
